Unites: Two Inspiring Love Stories for Valentine's Day
    By Mary Kathleen Stewart

Valentines' Day is a celebration of love! If you are single and still searching for your soul mate, it can be a depressing reminder that you are still alone. However, this is the time to renew your faith and believe that the love you have always dreamed about is possible and coming your way! Releasing the past and making room for new love to enter your life is the single most important step you can take. Once you have created space for love in your heart and home, the Feng Shui cupid will do the rest. There are many powerful Feng Shui techniques that deliver results quickly. Often a few simple adjustments are all it takes for the cupid's arrow to connect you with your true love. Highly recommended reading is Lillian Too's "Feng Shui for Love: 168 ways to Happiness." The Feng Shui Cupid is ready to unite you with your soul mate. Are you ready?

I have seen Feng Shui transform lives and would like to share two of my favorite love stories. May they inspire you to open your heart and home to love on Valentines' Day!

    Jane & Dave's Love Story

Jane, a naturally beautiful, intelligent, sweet woman with a "heart of gold"- dedicated many years of her life to a rewarding, but demanding career in the Biotech industry. Jane was ready to settle down with the right man and start a family. She was actively dating and had been involved in several dead-end relationships with men who were incapable of committing or fully appreciating her inner and outer depth and beauty.

Jane had signaled to the universe that she was serious about marriage and joined an exclusive matchmaking service. She met men who were very successful financially but lacking in the emotional depth, love and caring she deserved.

A very dear friend, as well as a Feng Shui client, Jane was enthusiastic about trying Feng Shui to manifest the love she wanted in her life. The process began Valentine's Day, 1999. Since she spent so much of her waking hours at work, we started with her office. Her desk was facing the wrong direction and against the wall, blocking her from several well-deserved promotions. Once that was corrected, we energized Jane's love corner in her office with a pair of love pictures containing pink and red. A picture created with dried flowers in her love corner was taken down immediately. We added crystals and other love symbols to the Southwest of her desk. In her home, we spiced up her bedroom, which happened to be in the Southwest love sector of her home. Jane removed the cool purple and green iris prints over her bed and replaced them with a pair of warmer pink toned love prints. An avid bear collector, she placed a pair of bears (male & female) in the Southwest of her bedroom. She added bright, colorful "love" artwork to the empty white walls in the hallway and living room.

Jane dumped a cold, commitment phobic ex-boyfriend February 13, 1999. At that time, she went through boxes of old photos and removed any that included ex-boyfriends. She also cleaned out her appointment book, removing all addresses and phone numbers from her exes. She cleared her closet of all clothes that had been gifts from another immature, self-centered ex-boyfriend. Jane grew out of these outfits literally and figuratively as her confidence and self-esteem began to flourish.

Within weeks of reorganizing her office, Jane's career took off. She was promoted 3 times in less than 9 months from Manager to Senior Manager to Associate Director to Director. She is now an Executive Director. As soon as she cleared her life of all traces of her depressing ex-boyfriends, she connected romantically with Dave, a colleague she had worked with for over one year. (It is no coincidence that she met Dave through work after energizing the love corner of her office). Simultaneously, Dave was in the process of clearing out his own old baggage. He'd had a secret crush on Jane since he first laid eyes on her-more than two years earlier, but never made the move because she appeared unavailable.

After several months of serious flirting, Jane and Dave started dating in September 1999. They fell in love and were engaged 3 months later in December. A beautiful, romantic wedding ceremony was held at a New England country church in May 2000 followed by a joyful wedding reception. Guests flew in from England and all over the United States to celebrate the union of two special soul mates. Jane and Dave bought a beautiful 4,500 square foot home in June and are working on starting their own family with a little help from the "Feng Shui Stork."

    Michiko & Bruce's Love Story

Michiko, a bright, charming, gorgeous woman and successful Personal Fitness Trainer had no trouble meeting men. After divorcing a physician in December 1994 at age 35, she confided that she dated a number of "playboy, trust-fund, self-centered jerks" for several years. Michiko changed her dating strategy and started choosing "nice guys" but found them uninteresting and boring.

Jane, from the first love story, introduced me to her childhood friend Michiko, excited by the powerful transformations in her own life. Michiko was really depressed. Frustrated with her love life, she was ready to give up on dating. When we met in September 1999, she was open to Feng Shui and willing to try anything. I knew that deep down her heart's desire was to meet her soul mate and remarry.

While evaluating Michiko's home, it became clear that she was still subconsciously holding onto the past. She kept all her old love letters as well as photos of ex-boyfriends in her bedroom and living room dating all the way back to high school! She routinely wore beautiful jewelry, all gifts from her exes. Her wedding dress from her first marriage remained in her closet and carried unpleasant memories of a failed relationship. Michiko's bedroom was a cool blue and not in harmony with the warmth, love, and passion she desired to attract in her life.

I recommended that Michiko release the past and make room for new love to come into her life by tossing out the old letters and photos. She wasted no time in throwing away all her old love letters and photographs. Michiko donated her wedding dress to a church auction for a charity benefit. She ignited her love corner (Southwest) with fire and passion by adding a beautiful red silk scarf and stopped wearing jewelry from her exes. Michiko energized dead space on her deck with melodious wind chimes. To protect her successful career, she realigned the desk in her home office so her back was no longer facing the door. The new layout gave her career added support due to the solid wall that was now behind her back.

In October 1999, a few weeks after implementing the recommendations, Michiko went away by herself to a spa in Southern Utah where she hiked with strangers in the deserts and mountains. Recharged, she went back to her normal work schedule. One week later, Barbara, a personal fitness client, called and excitedly informed Michiko that she'd just met the most charming, handsome, intelligent, nice man. She said, "I wish I were younger, but Bruce is perfect for you." Michiko gave Barbara permission to give Bruce her phone number under the pretense that she needed a "financial planner". (It is no coincidence that Michiko's client played "cupid" right after adjusting her desk position for added support.)

Bruce phoned Michiko within 2 days. After speaking for 1 hour on the phone, they set up a "financial planning" appointment. The business lasted 30 minutes, but the meeting lasted 3 hours! A week later, Bruce was Michiko's date to a Halloween costume party. They started dating exclusively and knew within a few months that they were meant for each other. Michiko and Bruce were engaged in April and blissfully married on October 7, 2000.
