What is feng shui?

Literally "wind and water," Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of creating beauty, harmony, and tranquility in any environment while living in harmony with nature.

Artful furniture placement, a balance of elements, color, sound, scent, lighting, artwork and decorative accessories all contribute to creating positive chi. When your chi is flowing, you attract greater abundance, new opportunities & success. Relationships become smoother and you have more energy to do the things you are passionate about.

Implementing feng shui generally does not require undue disruptions, extensive modifications or expensive changes to your home.

History of Feng Shui

Feng shui was developed about 5,000 years ago in China by people who were the closest to the land and dependent on agricultural success for their survival. They studied and observed how locating their homes and farms in relationship to hills and rivers affected their families, relationships, and fortunes. Over a period of centuries, as its development matured by scholars and philosophers, feng shui became a highly sophisticated system that gained credence as its practices were adopted by the Chinese royal families who brought it into their homes. Today, feng shui is being recognized by millions of people, east and west, as a way of living with intention that brings greater balance and harmony into their hectic lives.

There are 3 powerful formulas that are used in Traditional Compass School Feng Shui that are addressed in this book:

The 8 Life Aspirations Formula: Each of the 8 compass directions is related to one of the 8 Life Aspirations: Health; Wealth; Recognition; Relationships; Creativity; Networking; Career and Wisdom. Each location has specific colors, artwork, and decorative accessories that will activate the life area.
The 8 Mansions Formula: Each individual has a personal set of favorable directions (mansions) to face when working, eating, and sleeping that enhances success, wealth, relationships and business opportunities.
Flying Stars: There is a Time Dimension to Feng Shui. Each Chinese New Year homes and businesses need to be recalibrated to activate the positive stars and to subdue the afflicted stars.
